Nitra-Seal Installed to Prevent Vapor Intrusion for National Coffee Chain Expansion

Download the Project Snapshot

Project highlights:

  • Vapor mitigation for new coffee retail location to support national brand expansion
  • Nitra-Seal® installed to prevent vapor intrusion from petroleum hydrocarbons

A national coffee chain selected a high-visibility site in Northern Illinois for a new quick-service retail location as part of its U.S. expansion. Due to potential vapor intrusion risks from petroleum hydrocarbons linked to former site use and nearby properties, the development team proactively installed Nitra-Seal®, a proven vapor barrier system known for its chemical resistance and cost-efficiency. A Land Science® Certified Applicator completed the installation under a compressed timeline and in accordance with manufacturer specifications, ensuring the project stayed on schedule. With Nitra-Seal in place beneath the foundation, the site is now effectively protected from vapor intrusion, supporting the client’s commitment to safety, operational excellence, and responsible redevelopment.
