Advanced Vapor Barrier Protects From Potential Vapor Intrusion Risk
Project highlights:
- Nitra-Seal ensures safe indoor environment at Camp Lejeune
- Nitra-Seal chosen due to its excellent chemical resistance against VOCs and PHCs, proven track record in similar military applications, competitive cost, and streamlined installation process suitable for military construction timelines.
At Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, the 2nd Marine Division (MARDIV) planned the construction of a new Battalion Headquarters facility. Given the historical presence of environmental contamination at various locations across the base, proactive measures were required to mitigate potential vapor intrusion risks from volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and petroleum hydrocarbons (PHCs). Ensuring the health and safety of Marines and support personnel was paramount. The project team selected the Nitra-Seal® vapor mitigation system to effectively address these vapor intrusion concerns.
