Case study highlights:

  • Project Awarded First Brownfield Redevelopment Area Grant in Tennessee
  • Effective Mitigation of Chlorinated Solvents and Petroleum Contamination

The former Plumley Tire site in Morristown, Tennessee, once impacted by historic manufacturing operations, is currently undergoing significant redevelopment. This initiative is funded by Tennessee’s BRAG grant, representing a crucial element of Governor Bill Lee’s campaign to revitalize brownfield locations throughout the state. The site was impacted by petroleum hydrocarbon and chlorinated solvent contaminants due to historic rubber manufacturing operations dating back to the 1960’s. As the first site awarded a BRAG grant for remediation in the state of Tennessee, the application of Retro-Coat at the Plumley Tire site has met the stringent requirements for indoor air quality protection, protecting future building workers and occupants.
