Project snapshot highlights:

  • 750,000 sq. ft. protected against chlorinated solvent vapor intrusion at a former chemical plant redevelopment in Philadelphia.
  • MonoShield installed across two building footprints simultaneously, meeting aggressive construction schedules and strict quality standards.

A former chemical manufacturing plant impacted by chlorinated solvent (CVOC) releases, was poised for redevelopment. Residual CVOC contamination persisted in the subsurface, necessitating a remediation solution to protect future occupants against vapor intrusion (VI). The vapor intrusion mitigation design engineer specified Land Science’s MonoShield vapor barrier system to effectively mitigate potential VI exposure. MonoShield was selected as the most appropriate technology due to its ability to perform against the CVOCs and its durability to withstand activities associated withlarge construction projects.
