MonoShield Protects Logistics Facility from Methane Vapor Risks

Case study highlights

  • The installation followed strict manufacturer-recommended construction quality assurance (CQA) procedures
  • MonoShield and the integrated methane venting and monitoring systems successfully installed, the logistics facility is effectively safeguarded against methane risks

An 86,000 square-foot logistics facility was constructed in south Florida, adjacent to a former landfill site. Due to the site’s proximity to the landfill, the potential for methane vapor intrusion was identified as a significant risk factor for future building occupants and operations. To proactively manage and mitigate the risk, MonoShield® vapor barrier was selected as the optimal solution due to its superior chemical resistance, durability, ease of installation, and compatibility with sub-slab venting and monitoring systems.
