Recent Changes to Opportunity Zone Regulations

Opportunity Zones are meant to target chronically underserved communities, and it must be expected that land improvement and environmental remediation will be a critical need for many of these sites. In order to qualify for tax incentives, the property development must either bring a new business into the zone, or improve the availability, aesthetics and value of the zone’s housing or commercial options. To learn how to take advantage of a number of recent key Opportunity Zone regulatory updates, download the eBook.

Time-Lapse Video of Industry-Leading Vapor Barrier TerraShield Installation

Time-Lapse Video of Industry-Leading Vapor Barrier TerraShield Installation

This video shows time lapse footage of an application of TerraShield nitrile vapor barrier. Land Science researchers have developed a break-through technology which incorporates nitrile into the spray-applied core formulation, a material known for its superior chemical resistance. The resulting spray-applied core barrier offers an improvement of up to 10x in chemical resistivity compared to SBR-modified spray barriers. TerraShield provides superior chemical resistance over any vapor barrier on the market today.

6 Reasons To Specify a VI Barrier Offering the Highest Level of Chemical Resistance

6 Reasons To Specify a VI Barrier Offering the Highest Level of Chemical Resistance

TerraShield is a significant step forward for vapor intrusion barriers. Employing an innovative dual-metalized film technology in combination with a versatile spray-applied nitrile core, TerraShield provides superior chemical resistance over any existing vapor barrier currently on the market. It is the ideal vapor mitigation solution for residential, industrial, and commercial developments with volatile contaminant impacts that represent significant health hazards and economic liabilities. Analysis of Barrier Material Performance: TerraShield Barrier Components

Analysis of Barrier Material Performance: TerraShield Barrier Components

In the development of a new vapor mitigation barrier system, TerraShield, extensive studies were performed to understand the relative chemical resistance of the TerraShield barrier components as compared to components of other barrier systems. This test evaluated the dual-metalized base layer of TerraShield (TerraBase) as compared to a 10 mil HDPE barrier. The testing results showed that the dual-metalized film of TerraBase decreased the TCE diffusion by over two-orders of magnitude (>100X more resistant) compared to an HDPE barrier. Retro-Coat Blocks Vapor Intrusion at Former Industrial Site

Retro-Coat Blocks Vapor Intrusion at Former Industrial Site

This case study reviews a former industrial manufacturing site with three existing structures that required a vapor barrier system to address VOC vapor intrusion found from historic manufacturing operations. Considering vapor mitigation options for existing structures, the consultant and owner determined that Retro-Coat was an effective vapor barrier system to address vapor intrusion concerns.

eBook Providing 10 Reasons to Consider Retro-Coat to Protect Your Property Investment

eBook Providing 10 Reasons to Consider Retro-Coat to Protect Your Property Investment

Vapor intrusion occurs when there is migration of vapor-forming chemicals from any subsurface contaminant source into an overlying building. When vapor intrusion is detected, it becomes necessary to design a solution to mitigate the problem. Retro-Coat™, a chemically resistant coating designed to resist aggressive chemical vapors, is a cost-effective technology with many advantages over alternative options for existing structures and has been gaining popularity and acceptance as an effective vapor intrusion mitigation strategy. To learn more about the benefits of Retro-Coat, download the eBook.
