Nitra-Seal Protects Youth Development Center From Potential Vapor Intrusion Risks

Project highlights:

  • Underlying soil and groundwater contained cVOCs, posing a potential vapor intrusion risk at the site
  • 40,000 square feet of Nitra-Seal installed to protect youth development center from potential VI risks.
  • Fast installation by certified applicators ensured regulatory compliance and kept the project on schedule.

A newly constructed youth development center in the Mid-Atlantic region required a vapor intrusion mitigation solution to safeguard children, families, and staff from potential subsurface vapor intrusion. The site’s urban history carried the potential for vapor intrusion from chlorinated volatile organic compounds (cVOCs) present in underlying soil and groundwater. To ensure occupant protection and regulatory compliance without delaying construction, the project team selected Nitra-Seal, Land Science’s advanced nitrile composite vapor barrier system.
